Marcus Rashford is said to be open to a transfer to Barcelona after the La Liga club reached out to him, offering a loan deal with an option to purchase the Manchester United striker next summer.

Rashford’s future at Manchester United appears more uncertain by the day. Having made over 400 appearances and contributed more than 200 goals for his childhood club, the forward now seems ready to pursue a new challenge.

The 26-year-old publicly stated his wish for a change after being left out of the squad for United’s 2-1 win against Manchester City. He was also absent from the League Cup quarter-final against Tottenham, intensifying rumors about his exit.

Barcelona has allegedly proposed to Manchester United a loan deal for Rashford in January, with an option to buy him for £35 million (€42.1m/$44m) next summer. As reported by FootballTransfers, Rashford is aware of Barcelona’s interest and is eager for the transfer.

TEAMtalk reports that Rashford is prepared to leave England, with Spain being a particularly attractive option. Manchester United is reportedly open to a January loan, as long as Rashford does not move to another English club.

A loan move suits Barcelona’s financial limitations, which have raised concerns about their ability to register summer signing Dani Olmo for the second half of the season. Although Rashford’s wages might pose a challenge, Barcelona could find ways to make the deal happen. A permanent transfer next summer is still unclear, but the situation could shift in the coming months.

Besides Rashford, Barcelona is also reportedly eyeing Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold. Their interest in the right-back is said to be “serious,” with internal talks ongoing to figure out how to fund the transfer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona could face player departures. Liverpool is said to be interested in midfielder Gavi, who may consider leaving if his playing time does not improve after recovering from his ACL injury. Additionally, if Dani Olmo is not registered for the second half of the season, Premier League leaders Arsenal might move to sign him on a free transfer.
