Liverpool
BREAKING NEWS: “Enough is enough! From all we’ve seen this season, he’s been a shadow of himself. Costly errors, poor performances, and constant mistakes have left we and the fans frustrated and the team vulnerable. If anyone should be first out the door this January transfer window, it’s him. The club must act swiftly—sell him and bring in this proven Premier League star. Jamie Carragher urges Liverpool to sign Premier League star to solve Liverpool star issues.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has criticized Andy Robertson’s recent displays, particularly highlighting his errors that contributed to Liverpool losing points against Fulham on Saturday.
Robertson’s difficulties started early in the game when he was the victim of a tough challenge from Fulham’s Issa Diop. While some felt the tackle deserved a red card, the referee and VAR disagreed. Soon after, Robertson’s poor defensive positioning allowed Andreas Pereira to score, putting Fulham ahead and giving them an unexpected advantage at Anfield.
The situation worsened for the Liverpool left-back six minutes later when a heavy touch handed possession to Harry Wilson, who broke towards goal. Robertson’s desperate attempt to recover resulted in a foul outside the penalty area, earning him a red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Liverpool were left with 10 men for the remainder of the match.
Although Cody Gakpo equalized early in the second half, Fulham regained the lead in the 76th minute through Muniz. Just when it appeared that Liverpool were heading for their second home loss of the season, Diogo Jota scored a late goal to salvage a point.
**Carragher Calls for New Left-Back**
Following Robertson’s struggles, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has called on the club to sign a new left-back, suggesting Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a suitable option. Speaking on Sky Sports (quotes via Daily Mail), Carragher commented:
“(Against Fulham) He didn’t seem to be sprinting back properly after that earlier challenge, and his poor touch led to the red card. He needs support. Liverpool have no real back-up, and they must address this in January.”
Carragher also praised Kerkez, stating:
“Kerkez has been exceptional at Bournemouth. The technical director who brought him there (Richard Hughes) is now Liverpool’s sporting director. Kerkez is aggressive, a proper full-back, and he’s been outstanding since joining the Premier League. He’s one to keep an eye on for the future.”
**Robertson’s Continued Struggles**
This is not the first time Robertson has appeared out of sync this season. He gave away clumsy penalties against Southampton last month and Real Madrid, although Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher saved both, preventing further embarrassment.
While Robertson remains an important player in Liverpool’s recent achievements and continues to be a fan favorite, his form this season has raised concerns about his consistency. Many now feel it might be time for the club to look for a long-term replacement.
Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is a strong contender, but Liverpool has also been linked with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, a prominent option to bolster the left-back position.
