BREAKING NEWS: Live from Anfield, Liverpool set announcement date for key player’s contract renewal after major progress in negotiations
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly nearing an agreement for a new contract at Anfield, as per Marca (via Mail Sport), with the deal expected to be concluded by the end of 2024.
Salah’s future has been the subject of much speculation recently, particularly with his current contract set to expire next summer. The Egyptian had been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League as a free agent, but it now appears more probable that he will stay at Liverpool.
Since joining from AS Roma in July 2017 for a reported €42 million, Salah has become one of the club’s all-time greats. He has made 372 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 227 goals and assisting 101 times.
This season, Salah has played a key role in Liverpool’s strong start under manager Arne Slot. In 23 appearances across all competitions, he has netted 16 goals and provided 13 assists, helping Liverpool top both the Premier League and Champions League standings.
**Liverpool Prepare £50m Bid for Charles De Ketelaere**
Liverpool are reportedly preparing to submit a £50 million bid to acquire Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere next summer, according to Fichajes.net (via Transfer News Live on X).
De Ketelaere has been in superb form for Atalanta this season, with six goals and nine assists from 22 appearances across all competitions. The Belgian, who can operate as a center-forward or right-winger, could add valuable depth to Liverpool’s attacking options.
The 22-year-old completed a permanent move to Atalanta from AC Milan this summer and is contracted until June 2027. His performances have been crucial in Atalanta’s strong Serie A title challenge this season, where they currently lead the table with 37 points from 16 games, two points ahead of Napoli. De Ketelaere has contributed three goals and five assists in 15 league appearances.
