Chelsea has been advised not to re-sign Mohamed Salah if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old forward is approaching the final six months of his contract with Liverpool, and as it stands, he could leave the club for free at the end of the season.

As reported by The Athletic, Liverpool’s management has recently extended a contract offer to Salah, who originally joined the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014. This comes after weeks of speculation, as Salah raised concerns about his future at Anfield, mentioning he felt “more out than in.”

However, former Chelsea defender William Gallas has warned the club against pursuing Salah if he doesn’t secure a new contract with Liverpool. Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas said:

“I believe Chelsea should pass on the opportunity to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer. His arrival could disrupt the squad’s harmony. Even though he’s been outstanding in the Premier League, signing him might upset the team balance and inadvertently strengthen a rival.”

Salah, who has scored 227 goals for Liverpool since his arrival in 2017, had a disappointing spell with Chelsea earlier in his career, making just 19 appearances before being sold to AS Roma in 2016.
