BREAKING NEWS: Manchester United Squad Confirmed for FA Cup Showdown Against Arsenal.
This weekend, the focus shifted from the Premier League to the FA Cup, with the competition taking center stage. On Sunday, reigning champions Manchester United will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most exciting matchups of the round.
Ahead of the eagerly awaited game, Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim, along with his staff and players, was seen at Stockport station on their way to London. However, a number of key players were notably missing from the traveling squad. Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Victor Lindelof are all still recovering from injuries, while Jonny Evans remains unavailable.
Amorim provided an update on the squad’s health, mentioning, “Victor Lindelof is still out, and Jonny Evans is unavailable. Amad has a minor injury, but I believe he can recover in time. Luke Shaw is progressing, and Mason Mount is also improving. The rest of the team is fit and ready to compete.”
Amorim also stressed the need to stay focused on the immediate challenge, saying, “At this moment, we’re taking things one step at a time. We’ve had a week without a game, so there’s no reason to rest players now. Our aim is to win and build on our previous performance. While we’re in a difficult period, we’re making progress. We’ll field the strongest team possible to win this match. Winning the cup is our priority, and sometimes securing victories in these big games outweighs the need for extra recovery time. First, we’ll focus on this match, then we’ll consider what comes next.”
Reports from the Manchester Evening News confirmed the United squad, which includes Onana, Bayindir, Heaton, Dalot, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro, Maguire, Martinez, Malacia, Mainoo, Ugarte, Casemiro, Collyer, Fernandes, Eriksen, Antony, Garnacho, Zirkzee, Højlund, and Amad.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will also be missing some key players, including Ethan Nwaneri, Bukayo Saka, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu, as both teams prepare for a thrilling FA Cup clash.
