Real Madrid
An official response from FIFA to Real Madrid’s decision, after Ancelotti threatened the team to withdraw from the Liga due to the lack of rest hours between the matches!
Florentino Perez’s good relationship with Gianni Infantino, president of the International Football Association (FIFA), gives Real Madrid a sense of protection and support from the governing body of World Football. In Santiago Bernabio, the club acknowledges that FIFA “agrees with us about the minimum rest period that players need ”. Real Madrid has already communicated with the Infantino Organization and has received its full support. Therefore, in the event of a violation of the 72-hour rest period again, it will be necessary for FIFA to issue a statement, especially since they themselves have demanded that this period be set as a minimum rest.
This situation provides great comfort to Real Madrid, as they hope that this will ensure that no games are played in any of the Spanish league matches without the players getting the rest period that the club considers fair and necessary, to ensure that the players are prepared in the best possible way in the matches. This is especially important in this season, as competition is raging between Real Madrid, Barcelona and Altico Madrid, as other teams have had more time to prepare and participate in matches.
Despite the violation of the FIFA recommendation regarding the rest period in the last game, the Carlo Ancelotti team succeeded in winning Villarreal with a score of 2-1, after it was late in the result. Although the players were not at their best physical condition, they managed to overcome difficult conditions and win. Killian Mbabi scored two great goals to reach his thirty-first goal with Real Madrid.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper ‘‘ Defensa Central ‘‘, Florentino Perez seeks, through his protests and the way he deals with matters, to achieve a fundamental change in football. This is one of the main reasons for his desire to establish the European Super League, to put an end to the monopoly that increasingly ignores the health of players and puts them at risk, leading to increased casualties.
Regardless of their skills, even if they have enormous physical abilities, soccer players are not just machines. They need to rest and set their rhythm well to perform the best possible level in every match. If they do not get the right rest, it will be difficult for them to reach their fullest potential. From here, Real Madrid is striving to change this situation in the near future.
Obviously, these conditions come within the high salaries that players receive, but they are increasingly calling for a more flexible schedule given the continued increase in the number of matches. While these matches bring more revenue to clubs, they come
