Liverpool is close to finalizing one of the biggest transfers of the summer, as Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has allegedly agreed to join the Reds. However, the Swedish forward has emphasized that two key conditions must be met before he officially signs.

In a statement that has sent shockwaves through the football world, Isak revealed:

“I vowed to make history at Newcastle before considering my future—and I did just that. Now, I’m ready to take the next step. Liverpool’s offer is on the table, and I’m willing to accept. But let’s be clear: I have two conditions. First, I must be the highest-paid player at the club. Secondly, I want the number 7 shirt… well, that’s for Liverpool to decide. If they want me, they know what they have to do.”

If Liverpool grants Isak’s request, he would surpass Mohamed Salah as the club’s top earner. Salah currently leads Liverpool’s wage structure with a salary of approximately £350,000 per week. Securing Isak would likely require a weekly wage exceeding £375,000, which could disrupt the financial balance and create tension among established stars.

The legendary No. 7 shirt has been worn by club icons such as Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, and Luis Suárez, with Luis Díaz being its current holder. For Isak to receive the number, Liverpool would either need to persuade Díaz to change it or strip him of it, a decision that could stir controversy within the squad.

Supporters have expressed mixed reactions to Isak’s conditions, with some calling them audacious and others disrespectful.

“He hasn’t even played a game for us, and he wants to be the highest-paid player? That’s madness!” one fan wrote online.

“Demanding the No. 7 shirt from Díaz? That’s a bad start already. He should earn it first,” another commented.

On the other hand, some fans are excited about the possibility of Isak leading Liverpool’s attack.

“If he scores 20+ goals a season, I don’t care what number he wears. Pay him whatever it takes,” one supporter argued.

Liverpool now faces a pivotal decision—whether to meet Isak’s demands and make him their new star or risk losing him to another major European club. With Newcastle reportedly open to selling for the right price, this transfer saga is far from settled.
