France International Paul Pogba 18-month ban from football officially ended on Tuesday and he is set to join Manchester City after Negotiation with Pep Guardiola
Paul Pogba’s 18-month football ban has officially come to an end, but the French midfielder is in no rush to sign with a new club. According to sources, Pogba is taking his time to weigh his options and is unlikely to make a decision until the end of the season.
Pogba’s choices are limited, as he can only sign with clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS) or Japan’s J1 League due to the timing of the transfer windows. However, the 31-year-old is prioritizing a return to one of Europe’s top leagues, with a preference for a club competing in the Champions League or Europa League.
Pogba’s ultimate goal is to secure a spot in France’s 2026 World Cup squad, and he believes playing for a top European club will give him the best chance of achieving that goal. The midfielder has already received interest from several clubs, including Marseille, Fiorentina, and unnamed LaLiga sides, but has turned down offers from the Saudi Pro League and Brazilian Serie A.
During his ban, Pogba has been training on his own with a personal trainer and participating in pickup matches in Miami, where he has been living with his family. The former Manchester United and Juventus player is now free to train and play competitive matches, and will continue to take his time to decide on his next move.
