Liverpool Closing in on £150M Double Swoop for Rodrygo & Alvarez! Liverpool is reportedly on the verge of securing a blockbuster £150 million deal to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid and Julian Alvarez from Atlético Madrid

Liverpool might undergo a significant squad revamp this summer, with speculation suggesting that Darwin Núñez, Diogo Jota, Luis Díaz, and Mohamed Salah could all depart. If these exits happen, Arne Slot would be left with only Cody Gakpo as an established forward, making attacking reinforcements a crucial necessity.

With such an exodus possibly on the horizon, Manchester City’s Julian Álvarez has surfaced as a key target. The £100 million-rated Argentine attacker has showcased his ability at the highest level but frequently plays a supporting role to Erling Haaland. A switch to Liverpool could provide him with a greater role and the chance to become the focal point of Slot’s forward line.

Although Manchester City would be hesitant to bolster a direct competitor, a substantial offer could challenge their stance—especially if Álvarez pushes for more consistent playing time. Liverpool, however, would need to act swiftly, as other top European clubs are also keeping tabs on his situation.

With uncertainty surrounding Salah, Núñez, Jota, and Díaz, this transfer window could be among the most defining in Liverpool’s recent history. Is Álvarez the high-profile signing needed to launch a new chapter?

Liverpool have reportedly identified Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez as a primary target for the summer transfer period, according to Anfield Watch. The Argentine attacker, who transferred to Atlético last year for £89 million from Manchester City, has been in exceptional form, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists ahead of their La Liga encounter with Barcelona.

Although Atlético are keen to retain him, Liverpool would have to submit a bid exceeding £100 million to tempt them into a sale. Meanwhile, Álvarez is also considered an alternative to Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, whose valuation could climb to £150 million.

Both strikers bring distinct qualities, making Liverpool’s decision a challenging one:

Julián Álvarez is a prolific finisher who excels in an organized, counter-attacking setup similar to Simeone’s. His movement and goal-scoring instincts make him a formidable threat inside the box, though he depends heavily on service.

Alexander Isak, on the other hand, is stronger, more adaptable, and better suited to Liverpool’s aggressive pressing system. His capacity to hold up play and generate chances makes him a more natural partner for Cody Gakpo.

If Newcastle fail to secure a Champions League spot, they might be compelled to offload key players, which could lower Isak’s valuation. Being just five months older than Álvarez, he still offers a long-term investment for Liverpool.

With the possibility of significant attacking changes, the choice between Álvarez and Isak could shape Liverpool’s next phase.

Should Liverpool make a move for Álvarez immediately, or wait to see if Isak becomes available at a reduced cost?
