**Copa del Rey: Real Madrid may boycott final against Barcelona**

Real Madrid could potentially pull out of Saturday’s Copa del Rey final versus Barcelona, as reported by *Marca*.

On Friday, Los Blancos denounced as “unacceptable” the remarks made by football authorities in reaction to an emotional interview given by Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, who is set to officiate the match.

Burgos Bengoetxea became emotional and cried during a press conference after facing questions regarding Real Madrid TV footage that criticized refereeing decisions.

The club’s channel had implied that Barcelona tends to secure more victories than Real Madrid whenever Burgos Bengoetxea is the match referee.

Currently, the reigning La Liga titleholders are weighing the option of skipping the match.

This incident is the newest chapter in a continuing clash between Real Madrid and Spanish football authorities. In response to the referee’s emotional press conference, Real Madrid also called off their scheduled media activities ahead of the final on Friday.

Previously in the season, Real had officially complained about La Liga referees, which led league president Javier Tebas to claim the club was “losing their minds.”
