Hansi Flick shuts the door on him at Barcelona, and the player offers himself to Real Madrid!
Barcelona is gearing up for an important La Liga clash as it travels to face Real Mallorca in the 33rd round of the tournament. The German manager is aiming to maintain his winning momentum and strengthen his position at the league’s summit.
As reported by the Spanish outlet ‘‘El Nacional‘‘, Dean Huijsen has come into the spotlight as one of the standout young defensive prospects, thanks to his stellar displays with Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Huijsen has quickly risen from relative obscurity to become a highly regarded center-back on the international scene. At just 19, he has gained the confidence of Andoni Iraola and has become a key player in a Bournemouth squad that has exceeded expectations this season in its chase for a European spot.
The ex-Málaga, Juventus, and Roma player has been central to Bournemouth’s success, not only for his defensive capabilities but also for his contributions in attack, scoring multiple goals through his physical presence and powerful long-distance strikes. A transfer to a top-tier club seems unavoidable, as Bournemouth are unlikely to hold onto him for long.
Although Joan Laporta and Deco had shown an interest in re-signing him due to his current form and potential, coach Hansi Flick has completely dismissed the possibility, arguing that Barcelona’s current center-back options—Cubarsí, Ronald Araújo, Eric García, Iñigo Martínez, and Andreas Christensen—make further additions unnecessary.
If Barcelona finds itself needing to bolster that area, Flick has indicated that his top pick is Jonathan Tah, the seasoned German center-back likely to join on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
With the door closed at Barcelona, Huijsen has reportedly proposed a move to Real Madrid, and Florentino Pérez seems prepared to meet Bournemouth’s €50 million valuation for the teenage defender.
