Liverpool are considering using Ben Doak as part of a package for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo
Liverpool’s primary objective heading into the upcoming summer transfer window is to secure a fresh contract for Ibrahima Konate, according to sources close to Football Insider.
During a recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that sporting director Richard Hughes is leading the efforts to ensure the 25-year-old defender agrees to a new deal.
At present, Konate is scheduled to leave Liverpool for free in June 2026, but the recent contract renewals with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have offered hope for the negotiations.
This comes after earlier reports in March indicating that while Liverpool continues talks with Konate, progress has been slow. With interest from PSG and Real Madrid on the rise, both clubs may look to target the center-back this summer, and Liverpool is determined to avoid losing him without a transfer fee.
Given the uncertainty surrounding Salah and Van Dijk’s contract situations, Liverpool is eager to prevent another lengthy saga similar to the one concerning Trent Alexander-Arnold’s possible move to Real Madrid.
Conor Bradley: A Potential Successor for Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool is also considering acquiring a new right-back, following Alexander-Arnold’s expected departure. Football Insider reported on April 12 that Conor Bradley will be given the opportunity to prove himself before the season concludes as Liverpool assesses its alternatives.
The club sees Bradley as a possible successor for Alexander-Arnold, as confirmed by a former Manchester United and Blackburn scout in November. However, there are concerns about Bradley’s injury record, which may lead Liverpool to explore the option of signing a permanent replacement.
