La FIFA admet une erreur d’arbitrage majeure ayant influencé le résultat final du match entre Barcelone et l’Inter Milan.
Le duel spectaculaire entre l’Inter et Barcelone (4-3) en demi-finale retour de la Ligue des champions a été marqué par plusieurs décisions contestées.
L’un des faits les plus discutés est le penalty accordé suite à une action entre Pau Cubarsí et Lautaro Martínez, qui a permis à Hakan Çalhanoglu d’inscrire le but du 2-0 juste avant la mi-temps, à la 45e minute. Cette décision a été critiquée par Arsène Wenger, responsable du développement du football mondial à la FIFA.
« Je suis totalement contre ce type de penalty. Et je suis totalement contre l’utilisation de la VAR au ralenti. À vitesse normale, c’est un tacle important », a affirmé l’ancien manager d’Arsenal.
« Regardez ce que fait Lautaro Martínez. Il sait qu’il ne va pas marquer et il penche pour Cubarsí. Il cherche le penalty. À mon avis, l’arbitre n’a pas pris la bonne décision », a-t-il poursuivi.
« Regardez qui attrape le ballon en premier. Pour moi, c’est ça qui compte. Lautaro fait le reste. Cubarsí joue le ballon en premier », conclut Wenger.
