Liverpool willing to spend €100 million for Barcelona duo this summer
As per a report by *Fichajes*, it has come to light that Liverpool are ready to act in order to acquire two players from Barcelona, those being Fermin Lopez and Andreas Christensen, through a combined proposal valued at €100 million.
The source indicates that Liverpool coach Arne Slot views both individuals as essential components of his vision and is confident they can have an instant effect in the Premier League.
Liverpool are said to be willing to offer €80 million for Fermin and €20 million for Christensen. Talks are already underway, and the English side is optimistic that this bid will persuade Barcelona to agree to a deal.
**Fermin attracting interest**
It should be highlighted that Fermin has caught the attention of many due to his composure and flexibility, even though he is just 22. The central midfielder has built a name for himself by performing well in pressure-filled moments and fitting seamlessly into Barça’s rapid style of football.
Still, it’s worth keeping in mind that despite Hansi Flick’s wish to retain him, the surplus of options in midfield suggests the La Masia product might not see many chances with the senior team next season.
In contrast, Liverpool are closely monitoring developments. They consider Fermin to be an excellent match for the English league, where his dynamism and dribbling qualities could flourish.
**Liverpool interested in Christensen**
Consistent playing time in the Premier League might allow him to reach his peak, something Barcelona may be unable to ensure.
**Christensen viewed as a suitable defensive reinforcement**
Interest in Christensen is also notable. The Danish defender has been dependable for Barcelona, though his involvement has decreased recently due to fitness issues.
Given there are no indications of a contract renewal past 2026, a summer exit appears quite likely.
Liverpool are aiming to strengthen their backline with seasoned and quality options, and Christensen fits this profile well. His calmness under pressure, sharp anticipation, and skill in initiating attacks from the back correspond well with Arne Slot’s strategic approach.
From Barcelona’s perspective, the proposal presents a significant dilemma. Although €100 million would provide a crucial economic lift—particularly amid current financial strain—the departure of two valuable squad players could negatively impact team depth.
Simultaneously, it’s important to consider that Barcelona have their sights on Luis Diaz, and these outgoing moves could assist them in crafting a more favorable proposal for the Colombian, who, in contrast to Fermin and Christensen, would likely secure a starting role next term.
