Arsenal has come to an ‘agreement’ to sign a player worth £64.4m, which means Man Utd now have the opportunity to pursue a £68.3m talent – Report

Both Arsenal and Man Utd have shown interest in Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, but recent developments show that the north London team

Arsenal has finalized an ‘agreement’, causing a disappointment for Man Utd.

Manchester United and Arsenal both aim to strengthen their attacking options. The Gunners want to improve on Kai Havertz.

On the other hand, the Red Devils intend to find replacements for Hojlund and Zirkzee, who together scored only 7 Premier League goals last season.

Both clubs have been chasing Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, yet the newest information reveals the north Londoners are now turning their attention to Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

According to today’s Diario Sport, Arsenal is close to securing the Slovenian striker for a fee of 75 million euros (£64.4m) plus additional costs.

Mikel Arteta’s squad had a verbal deal for Gyokeres, but that collapsed because negotiations became very difficult due to Sporting president Federico Varandas.

The Spanish media outlet claims the Swedish player has an agreement with the Lions to leave for 60 million euros.

Still, this might not be correct, as if the cost really was 60 million euros, Arsenal likely would have pushed to close that deal rather than paying over 75 million euros for Sesko.

With Gyokeres ‘moving away’ from Arsenal, who are now focusing on Sesko, Man Utd has a clearer chance to bring back the Swede alongside Amorim at Old Trafford.

Recent reports from Portugal’s O Jogo suggest a fee of 80 million euros (£68.3m) will be necessary to obtain the Liga Nos forward.

Sesko is a talented striker, but his numbers are not as impressive as Gyokeres’. The 22-year-old scored only 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga games for Leipzig last season.

By contrast, Viktor netted 39 goals in 33 league matches and was vital in helping Sporting win the Primeira Liga title.
