Marcus Rashford was seen at Old Trafford despite being excluded from Manchester United’s squad for the third consecutive match under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The forward, who was initially left out for the Manchester derby last weekend, has yet to feature again, missing both United’s midweek match and their 3-0 loss to Bournemouth. Although sidelined, Rashford showed his support by attending the game, which ended with the home crowd jeering the team as they left the pitch.

This latest omission comes shortly after Rashford, who is no longer involved with England’s national team, hinted at the possibility of leaving the club. In an interview with Henry Winter, the 27-year-old suggested he was ready for a new challenge.

“When I leave, I’ll make a statement, and it will be from me,” Rashford said. “There will be no hard feelings. You won’t hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just who I am. Personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

Rashford’s frank comments have sparked differing opinions, especially as his recent performances have been underwhelming. Last season, he netted just eight goals in all competitions, a tally that has faced criticism given his position as one of the club’s highest-paid players.

Amorim defended his choice to leave the forward out, stressing the importance of professionalism both on and off the pitch. “It is important—the performance in training, the performance in games, the way you dress, the way you eat, the way you engage with your teammates, the way you push your teammates,” he said.

Despite Rashford’s public remarks, Amorim has insisted he sees the player as part of United’s future.

“We face a new challenge here, the biggest challenge in football because of the difficult situation we’re in,” Amorim explained. “I hope all my players are ready for this challenge. I just want to win and help the team improve. We are better with Marcus Rashford—it’s that simple. We’re trying different things to help him return to his best level, which he has shown in the past.”
