His body language and attitude on the pitch were appalling. He’s doing more damage than good to the team’s dynamics, and it’s unacceptable for a player of his stature. He needs to be benched against Manchester City before he costs us a Manchester Derby” – This is the sentiment Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim appeared to express through his decision to substitute Marcus Rashford during the disappointing Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen.
Marcus Rashford was taken off just before the 60-minute mark during Manchester United’s Europa League fixture against Viktoria Plzen, a move by manager Ruben Amorim that has attracted considerable attention.
Rashford, who began the match amid increasing speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford, was unable to make an impact. Reports indicate that United are open to receiving offers for the 27-year-old, with an unexpected asking price placed on him due to ongoing transfer rumors.
Although the Red Devils secured a 2-1 comeback victory, Rashford struggled to affect the game, earning a yellow card before being substituted in the 55th minute. Notably, there was no visible exchange between Rashford and Amorim as the forward exited the pitch, a detail noted by journalist Samuel Luckhurst. In contrast, Amorim engaged with other players who were substituted, including Tyrell Malacia and Joshua Zirkzee.
