Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly hesitant to meet Manchester United’s £50 million asking price for Marcus Rashford, despite their interest in acquiring the forward.

According to CaughtOffside, PSG are eager to sign Rashford but are unwilling to pay the high fee set by United. The 27-year-old’s future has been unclear for a while, as the academy graduate is no longer a central figure at Old Trafford.

Once regarded as one of the top forwards globally, Rashford has faced difficulties with his form in recent seasons. His performances on the pitch and behavior off it have attracted criticism, leading him to fall out of favor with new manager Ruben Amorim.

After being dropped for the Manchester derby, Rashford suggested he wanted a new challenge. Despite Amorim publicly stating that Rashford is a key player, the forward was again left out of the squad for United’s Carabao Cup match against Tottenham, fueling his frustration and desire to leave the club.

PSG’s Position

Reports indicate that both Amorim and new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe are open to selling Rashford if the £50 million price is met. PSG, who have long been interested in the player, have renewed their pursuit.

The Ligue 1 champions are looking for a top-tier forward to strengthen Luis Enrique’s squad, with Rashford among their primary targets. However, they are cautious about meeting United’s price due to his recent form struggles and the surrounding criticism.

PSG have reportedly started considering other options, reluctant to commit such a large sum for a player who is no longer at his best.

With Rashford’s future still up in the air, Manchester United may need to reduce their demands if they wish to facilitate a move for the frustrated forward.
