A transfer deal involving Manchester United could be announced 24 hours after deadline day despite the medical being done.

On Monday, the January transfer window for English clubs slammed shut, with the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton all making signings during what was a hectic day.

Throughout the window, it was expected that United would bring in new faces after the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony left on loan.

However, the Red Devils only managed to bring in defenders Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

On deadline day, it was widely reported that defender Tyrell Malacia would also leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis, with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven the destination.

As reported by Sport Witness, Malacia completed his medical on Monday.

However, the deal is yet to become official, with PSV working to complete the deal before Tuesday afternoon.

There are hopes that Malacia could be signed in time to be registered for PSV’s clash against Feyenoord.

If not, Malacia would have to wait until the weekend to potentially make his debut against Willem II.

Since making the move to Old Trafford back in 2022, Malacia has been badly hampered by injuries, spending around 500 days on the sidelines before making just nine appearances for United this season.

Recently, when asked about Malacia’s future, United boss Ruben Amorim said: “We will see. What I know is that it’s really hard on Malacia. It is a long time without playing, and then it’s hard to play a lot of games.

“A player like him is a full-back. He played with the national team outside and inside, but sometimes in this system, sometimes it’s hard for him because he’s not so offensive.”

He added: “He can play as one of the three defenders, if we have more possession and more control of the games. It’s a really difficult context for him. But he’s our player and we are going to help him.”

United are back in action on Friday night when they take on Leicester City in the FA
