BREAKING NEWS 》Club slaps £100m price-tag on 19-year-old Liverpool target
Liverpool will have to pay at least £100m to sign one of their transfer targets this summer, according to the latest report.
Liverpool will have to pay at least £100m to sign one of their transfer targets this summer, according to the latest report.
The Reds are expected to be very active in the summer transfer window, with a few positions in need of additions.
The defence and attack are two positions that will likely see a few additions, considering that there could be a few departures in those positions.
As it stands, it has been widely reported that Trent Alexander-Arnold will join Real Madrid. So, Liverpool could need to sign a new right back, although they rate Conor Bradley highly and have other right-back options in Joe Gomez and Jarell Quasah.
Still, the fact that Gomez and Quansah could be used as sweeteners in a deal to sign Alexander Isak means there will be a new right-back at Anfield this summer.
Liverpool coach, Arne Slot is said to favour signing Feyenoord right-back Givario Read over other right-back options like Jeremie Frimpong.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are making serious plans to bring in a new left back, while a center half is also thought to be a priority for the club this summer.
Apart from Isak, another attacking player that is being linked with a summer switch to Liverpool is Southampton’s Tyler Dibling.
Despite playing in a struggling team, the attacker has been one of the few positives in an otherwise disastrous season. His performances have stood out, even when his club has failed to deliver.
The Daily Mail named Slot’s side as one of 14 sides that have “inquired about the gifted 19-year-old winger.”
It is claimed that Liverpool scouts recently watched him play for England Under-19s against Wales.
However, Southampton have placed a very massive price tag on him that is likely to discourage Liverpool and a host of other clubs.
According to The Telegraph, “Southampton are ready to demand a staggering fee of more than £100 million for the 19-year-old.
The report claims that Southampton are “expecting strong interest in the summer (for Dibling) but are prepared to adopt a hardline stance on his future, with their valuation higher than the £100 million paid by Manchester City to Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in August 2021.”
It is highly unlikely that Liverpool will be on the negotiation table if the Saints insist on getting £100m for the teenager, who has scored four goals in 30 appearances in club football this season.
The Reds have maintained a cautious approach to spending, preferring to do business only when it makes financial sense and they are certain the player will undoubtedly improve the team.
