The Data Doesn’t Lie, He’s the New Toni Kroos: Betis and Real Madrid Fight for His Signature

future of a talented midfielder is hanging in the air, with the battle between Betis and Real Madrid to acquire him.

Last summer, Real Madrid experienced a significant loss with the retirement of Toni Kroos. The German midfielder, a key piece in the team’s playmaking for years, decided to end his professional career. This decision left the white team without a midfield engine, a difficult gap to fill.

Since then, Real Madrid’s coaching staff, led by Carlo Ancelotti, has been looking to find a solution to this void. Several players tried to fill that position, but it was only recently that the team found its new leader in the midfield.

Dani Ceballos, the Unexpected Successor

Dani Ceballos, in the classic against Atlético, showed he was ready to take on the role of playmaker, so closely linked to Toni Kroos. With an outstanding performance, Ceballos completed 101 of the 102 passes he attempted, achieving an effectiveness of over 99%. This historic figure marked a turning point, as no one had achieved such effectiveness with more than 100 passes.

This type of statistics not only reflects Ceballos’s technical quality but also his ability to lead the game in key matches. In the classic, Ceballos was unstoppable, positioning himself as a candidate to replace Kroos in playmaking.

Ceballos’s Consolidation as a Starter

After this brilliant performance, Ancelotti gave Ceballos full confidence, placing him in the starting eleven in key matches. This change hasn’t been easy, as Real Madrid has a competitive squad, but Ceballos’s work has paid off. His ability to organize the game, seek the perfect pass, and bring dynamism to the team has made him an essential piece.

In his latest performance against Atlético, besides his passing precision, Ceballos sought long-range shots, creating danger. This versatility, combined with his high level of play, has made Ceballos one of the most valued players by the merengue fans.

Betis’s Interest and the Competition for His Signature

Dani Ceballos’s great evolution hasn’t gone unnoticed by other clubs. One of the teams following him the most is Real Betis, where Ceballos played before his return to Madrid.

The Betis club, always alert to market opportunities, has shown interest in signing him again. However, Real Madrid wants to retain him, knowing they have one of the most promising midfielders in La Liga.

The competition for Ceballos’s signature is strong. Meanwhile, Betis offers him the opportunity to return home, Real Madrid trusts in his growth and potential to continue leading the midfield. In the coming months, everything will depend on how the player continues his evolution with the white team.
