Live from Old Trafford – Tensions are escalating at Manchester United as manager Rúben Amorim gave a brutally honest critique of one of his players following a poor World Cup qualifying display. Speaking to the media after returning from the international break, Amorim didn’t hold back as he slammed the player’s performance for both club and country, raising serious doubts about their future at the team.

“I’ve watched him play for his national team in the World Cup qualifiers, and I have just one question—how is this guy even a footballer?” Amorim began, clearly frustrated. “How he ended up at this club is a mystery. Once the Premier League resumes, I don’t want him anywhere near the squad. He should stay in his country or find a club willing to put up with his disastrous performances. The way he ruined his national team, just like he did against Leicester City, is unforgivable.”

The unnamed Manchester United player’s performance during the qualifiers has drawn heavy criticism, with a series of errors leading to his country’s elimination from World Cup contention. Fans have quickly speculated that the manager might be referring to a well-known but inconsistent player, with many pointing to a struggling star who also faltered in a recent match against Leicester City.

Amorim’s comments reflect his frustration with players who have not stepped up in crucial moments this season. United’s early Champions League exit and uneven Premier League results have added pressure on the squad and their new manager.

Social media has been flooded with responses to Amorim’s bold remarks. One fan tweeted, “We don’t need him ever again can’t even play proper football ,” while another added, “Finally, someone says what we’re all thinking. Get him out!” However, not all fans agree with Amorim’s method, with some warning that his public criticism could hurt team morale.

This is not the first time Amorim has publicly reprimanded players, showing his commitment to accountability. Nevertheless, these latest remarks have sparked increased speculation about a possible roster shake-up in the summer, with several underperforming players reportedly facing the axe.

Amorim, who became United’s manager earlier this season, is under pressure to achieve results in the latter half of the campaign. As the Premier League resumes soon, fans will be closely watching whether the player in question is included in the squad and if this tough-love strategy proves effective.

One thing is clear—under Amorim’s leadership, mediocrity will not be tolerated at Old Trafford.
