“That player is something else! Even after the international break, he returned even more terrifying. Now, we have to face Manchester United, and honestly? As long as he’s on the pitch, we’re in serious trouble. I don’t even like playing against him—he’s just too good and impossible to stop.”

A potential move for Gyokeres would not come at a low cost, with Sporting asking for a fee around £85 million. However, Arsenal has shown they are willing to spend significantly when necessary, as evidenced by their summer acquisition of Declan Rice. Gyokeres’ arrival would bring a new dynamic to the front line, enabling Arsenal to diversify their attacking strategies and lessen the reliance on Gabriel Jesus and Havertz.

Another crucial issue Berta must tackle is Arsenal’s need for additional attacking options on the wings. Bukayo Saka has been outstanding, but depending on him so heavily raises concerns. To mount a serious title challenge, Arsenal must bolster their depth in wide areas. This is where Matheus Cunha comes in. The Wolves forward has impressed with his dribbling skills, creativity, and versatility, positioning him as a strong option to share the attacking load.

Cunha’s flexibility means he can operate both as a winger and a secondary striker. With Wolves likely seeking around £40 million for his services, Arsenal must assess whether his signing represents the best value for their money. However, given his Premier League experience and ability to seamlessly integrate into Arteta’s tactical system, he could prove to be a wise investment.

Midfield is another area expected to undergo changes. With Jorginho and Thomas Partey likely to depart, Arsenal will need to reinforce their central options. Declan Rice has excelled since joining, but he requires a reliable partner. Martin Zubimendi remains a strong target, with the Real Sociedad star seen as an ideal long-term replacement for Partey. His intelligence, composure on the ball, and defensive awareness make him a perfect fit for Arteta’s system.

Zubimendi’s price is set at around £50 million, and Arsenal will face competition from other European heavyweights. However, securing his services would bring balance and stability to the midfield, allowing Rice to operate more freely. Alongside Martin Odegaard, Zubimendi could form one of the most complete midfield trios in the Premier League.

Beyond the first-choice XI, squad depth remains a critical factor. Arsenal’s goals extend beyond domestic success; they aim to compete at the highest levels, including the Champions League. To achieve this, strengthening the bench is essential. Players like Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, and Reiss Nelson have struggled with consistency, meaning reinforcements might be needed.

Another important decision for Berta will be the future of Kieran Tierney. The Scottish left-back has spent this season on loan at Real Sociedad, and with Oleksandr Zinchenko struggling defensively, there’s a case for bringing Tierney back. However, if Arsenal decide to sell, investing in a more defensively solid left-back might be considered.

In goal, David Raya’s loan deal is expected to become permanent, leaving Aaron Ramsdale’s future uncertain. While Ramsdale has played a key role in Arsenal’s recent resurgence, Arteta’s preference for Raya may suggest that Ramsdale is looking for a new challenge. If Ramsdale leaves, Arsenal will need a reliable backup goalkeeper to maintain competition.

Defensively, the center-back pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes remains one of the league’s strongest. However, additional depth in this area could be beneficial, particularly with Arsenal’s history of injuries. Jakub Kiwior has shown promise, but another experienced defender could provide much-needed security.

With a potential budget of £161 million, Berta has the means to make transformative changes. The priority signings of Gyokeres, Cunha, and Zubimendi could take Arsenal to the next level, giving them the best chance to dethrone Manchester City. The summer transfer window will be crucial, and every decision must be carefully planned to ensure Arsenal continues their upward trajectory.

Arteta has developed a team on the cusp of greatness. Now, with Berta’s squad-building expertise, Arsenal must take that final step. If their transfers are executed correctly, the dream XI could become a reality—one capable of winning silverware and bringing Arsenal back to the top of English football.
