Enzo Maresca Gives Injury Update on Moisés Caicedo After Chelsea’s Club World Cup Win
Chelsea could be without influential midfielder Moisés Caicedo for Sunday’s Club World Cup final after he sustained a late ankle injury in their 2-0 victory over Fluminense.
The Ecuadorian midfielder twisted his left ankle during stoppage time at MetLife Stadium and appeared to be in visible pain. He was treated on the field, briefly attempted to continue, but was ultimately unable to carry on and left the pitch limping before the final whistle.
After the game, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shared an update on the injury and mentioned he had tried to avoid further aggravating the problem. “Moisés twisted his ankle,” Maresca stated. “There were just two or three minutes to go, so I told him we could finish the game with 10 players — the important thing was to not make it wor
