BREAKING NEWS: United Legend “Amaze-Stunned” by Liverpool’s 10/10 Midfield General in Brighton Beatdown.

The fierce North West rivalry was momentarily set aside this evening as Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney delivered a staggering tribute to a Liverpool star following the Reds’ 3-0 FA Cup demolition of Brighton.

While Mohamed Salah was busy returning his Man of the Match award to Curtis Jones, Rooney—speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show—claimed that neither of them was the true “wizard” of Anfield tonight. Instead, Rooney singled out a player whose performance he described as “beyond imagination.”

“Beyond Imagination”—Rooney’s Ultimate Praise

Rooney, who has been vocal about Liverpool’s “pressure” under Arne Slot this season, admitted he was left speechless by the tactical intelligence on display during the 3-0 rout.

“Although I’m a Man United legend, I have to be honest—that guy’s performance tonight is beyond imagination. I’ve never seen such a performance from any player this season. It wasn’t just about the goals; it was how he controlled the entire tempo of the game. I haven’t seen that level of dominance in the Premier League for years. He’s the real deal.”

THE “PARTICULAR” PLAYER:‼️ Why Alexis Mac Allister Left Rooney Amazed

The player Rooney is reportedly “left amazed” by is Alexis Mac Allister. While Jones and Szoboszlai found the net, it was the Argentine World Cup winner who “ran the show” from the deep-lying playmaker role.

• The “General” Stats: Mac Allister recorded an astonishing 96% pass accuracy, completed 12 long balls, and won 9 of his 10 ground duels against a high-pressing Brighton midfield.

• The “Rooney” Metric: Rooney highlighted Mac Allister’s “vision,” noting that his quickly taken free-kick to find Milos Kerkez for the first-half flurry was the kind of “elite thinking” that defines world-class players.

• The “10/10” Verdict: While official ratings gave Salah a 9/10, Rooney insisted that for a “pure footballing performance,” Mac Allister was the only “Perfect 10” on the pitch.

VALENTINE’S DAY CLINIC:‼️ 3-0 FA Cup Breakdown

Liverpool’s progression to the 5th round was a love letter to the fans, marking their best performance of the 2026 calendar year so far.

THE “SZOBOSZLAI” CO-SIGN:‼️ Salah Agrees with Rooney?

Interestingly, Mohamed Salah echoed Rooney’s sentiment in his post-match interview with TNT Sports, claiming that the team now “relies so much” on the midfield duo of Szoboszlai and Mac Allister. “This season, they are among the best players in the world,” Salah admitted.

Is Alexis Mac Allister the most underrated player in the Premier League, or is Wayne Rooney right that his performance tonight was the best of the season?
