The International Blow: “Withdrawn for Further Assessment!”

The “Carrick Revolution” at Old Trafford has just hit a “concerning” speed bump. Just as Manchester United F.C. was gearing up for a historic finish to the season, two of their most “lethal” attacking weapons have been sent back to Carrington.

Reports from the club on March 23, 2026, confirmed that Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško have both withdrawn from international duty. Mbeumo, who has been a “revelation” since his arrival, was forced to pull out of the Cameroon squad for their FIFA Series matches against Australia and China.

“THE PLAYER HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN… OUR PRIORITY IS HIS RECOVERY,” the club stated in a “sobering” update. 😱💣

The “Bournemouth Fatigue”: Why Mbeumo is Out

Mbeumo’s withdrawal is being labeled as a “precaution,” but the “anxiety” among fans is real. The forward was substituted 20 minutes before the end of United’s dramatic 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Friday, March 20.

• The Issue: While the club hasn’t specified a “grade” for the injury, the decision to keep him in Manchester suggests a hamstring or muscular strain that requires “immediate and thorough” treatment.

• The Impact: Mbeumo has been the “spark” in Carrick’s 4-2-3-1, and any prolonged absence would be a “catastrophic” blow to United’s 3rd-place security.

The Šeško Struggle: “Managing an Ongoing Issue”

In a “double-edged” blow, Slovenia has also agreed to release Benjamin Šeško back to United. Unlike Mbeumo’s sudden exit, Šeško’s withdrawal appears to be the result of an injury he has been playing through for several weeks.

“ENSURING HE FULLY RECOVERS FROM AN ISSUE UNITED HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY MANAGING!” 😳🔥

The 22-year-old striker has been “heroic” in the second half of the season, scoring 8 goals in 2026 alone. However, the club’s medical team has reportedly decided that the March break is the “only window” to get him back to 100% fitness before the April 13 showdown against Leeds United.

The Fitness Crisis: Is the Squad Thinning Out?

With Bruno Fernandes also fighting a hamstring issue and Matthijs de Ligt still a “long-term doubt” with a back injury, the list of names at Carrington is starting to look “dangerously thin.”

THIS IS THE INJURY BLOW UNITED DIDN’T NEED 😤

Michael Carrick is now facing a “tactical jigsaw puzzle.” If Mbeumo and Šeško aren’t ready for the Leeds Titanic, the pressure will shift entirely to Matheus Cunha and the recently returned Alejandro Garnacho (who has been settling in after his own fitness battle) to lead the line.

Fans React: “The Curse of the Break!”

The United faithful have taken to social media to express their “fears” that the international window has once again “sabotaged” their momentum.

• “Mbeumo out? He’s the engine of our attack! We can’t afford to lose him and Šeško at the same time. The medical team better work miracles!” one fan tweeted.

• “Carrick has been amazing, but he’s not a magician. If our top scorers are out, 3rd place is going to be a struggle. Get well soon, boys!” added another.

What’s Next? The Leeds Countdown and Carrington Scans

Both Mbeumo and Šeško are currently undergoing “round-the-clock” rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre (Carrington). The club is expected to provide a “final fitness update” on April 10, just 72 hours before the Leeds kickoff.
