TENSION MOUNTS AT NORTH LONDON

The hallways of London Colney are reportedly bracing for turbulence following claims of internal unrest inside Mikel Arteta’s squad. As the summer transfer window approaches its final days, reports suggest that Arsenal’s willingness to listen to offers for winger Gabriel Martinelli has sparked sharp reactions from key squad figures, including midfielder Declan Rice.

Martinelli, who has spent seven years in North London, was omitted from the matchday squad for both the FA Community Shield victory over Manchester City and the Premier League opener. With Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal advancing negotiations to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian international, speculation over squad morale has intensified.

“IF HE GOES, I GO TOO!” — THE CLAIMED ULTIMATUM

Tensions reportedly surfaced following discussions regarding squad balance and Martinelli’s role in Arsenal’s recent successes. In quotes circulating across online outlets, Rice allegedly defended his teammate’s impact and availability:

“I don’t know what he has done for the club to put him up for sale. We won the Premier League because of him, Gabriel Martinelli, and his availability. He shouldn’t be the one to be sold. If Arsenal don’t listen to my plea and let him go, I too will leave. He’s too good for us to lose to our rivals.”

While neither player nor club has issued a formal statement on the quote, the sentiment underscores how highly Martinelli is regarded by his peers inside the dressing room.

AL-HILAL PUSH FOR DEADLINE DEAL

On the transfer front, negotiations between Arsenal and Al-Hilal have become increasingly concrete as the deadline nears.

Negotiation Details: Reports indicate Al-Hilal submitted proposals in the range of €55m–€60m, with Arsenal holding out closer to their valuation before sanctioning a departure.

Player Position: Martinelli has reportedly opened the door to the move after realization grew that his starting minutes under Arteta would be curtailed for the upcoming campaign.

Replacement Search: Arsenal’s recruitment team is simultaneously exploring potential wing options, including Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Palace’s Eberechi Eze, to fill the vacancy should the deal go through.

REACTION ACROSS SOCIAL MEDIA

Supporters have voiced mixed feelings over the prospective sale of a long-serving fan favorite:

User @GunnerRant posted: “Martinelli has scored 62 goals for us and always gives 100% work rate! Selling him right before the window closes feels like a massive gamble.”

User @NorthLondonUtd wrote: “If Declan Rice is backing Martinelli, the board needs to take notice. Squad harmony is critical if we want to retain our title!”

User @ArsenalPulse added: “Recouping over £50m for Martinelli makes financial sense if Arteta wants to fund late incoming targets, but losing his pace is a big deal.”

WHAT COMES NEXT FOR ARSENAL?

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy face critical decisions regarding squad composition. Resolving Martinelli’s future while keeping core leaders focused on the pitch remains the top priority as the Gunners navigate their domestic title defense.
