Victor Lindelöf, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and academy talent Jack Kingdon are among those whose contracts expired on June 30 — and they’ve now officially left Old Trafford

As of July 1, 2025, the updated list features seasoned first-team players Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Jonny Evans, along with youth talents Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, James Nolan, Tom Wooster, Hubert Graczyk, and Tom Myles.
The decision has stirred heartfelt reactions among supporters, many thanking the veterans for their service while embracing the opportunity for a fresh chapter at Old Trafford.
Now 32, Lindelof leaves after spending eight years with the club, having joined from Benfica in 2017 for £31 million. The Swedish center-back appeared 259 times and netted four goals, but was limited to just 14 Premier League matches last season due to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.
Eriksen, aged 33, exits after three seasons and 113 appearances, where he contributed 12 assists and played a pivotal role in the club’s 2023 Carabao Cup success. Evans, now 37, wraps up his second spell at the club after returning in 2023, making 23 appearances as a reliable squad option.
These departures, along with Alejandro Garnacho’s £50 million move to Arsenal and Marcus Rashford’s loan deal to Aston Villa, create substantial wage savings—especially with Lindelof and Eriksen’s combined £270,000 weekly salaries no longer on the payroll.
None of the six academy players—Kingdon, Murray, Nolan, Wooster, Graczyk, and Myles—made senior appearances. Kingdon, who can play in several defensive roles, and Murray, a left-back, were once considered potential first-team players but were overtaken by emerging prospects like Leny Yoro.
Wooster, Graczyk, and Myles, all goalkeepers, together with midfielder Nolan, are now expected to continue their careers in the EFL or overseas, with Wooster reportedly attracting interest from Derby County. In its formal announcement, United thanked them for their contributions and wished all nine well in the future.
Fan reactions online are mixed. One supporter, @RedDevilsLad, wrote, “Lindelof and Eriksen were class—best of luck!” Another, @MUFCVoice, described the overhaul as necessary, commenting, “Amorim’s clearing deadwood for a title push.”
Manchester United’s £295.5 million summer investment in Harry Kane, Viktor Gyökeres, and Bryan Mbeumo—partially financed by Garnacho’s sale—signals their intent.
As talks continue with Club Brugge regarding Ardon Jashari, releasing nine players represents a decisive move in Amorim’s effort to reestablish United as a dominant force in both the Premier League and Europa League⊂
