In a thrilling Coppa Italia quarter-final, AC Milan secured a 3-1 victory over AS Roma, marking Kyle Walker’s first win with the Rossoneri since his loan move from Manchester City. The match showcased the team’s resilience and determination, with Walker playing a pivotal role in maintaining focus and discipline on the field.

Tammy Abraham, also on loan but from Roma, delivered a standout performance by netting two goals in the first half against his parent club. Despite facing boos from the Roma supporters, Abraham chose not to celebrate his goals, later expressing that the crowd’s reaction left him feeling ‘hurt.’

Throughout the match, Walker’s leadership was evident. At halftime, with Milan leading 2-0, he reminded his teammates, “It’s 0-0, we keep going,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining momentum and not becoming complacent. Although Roma managed to score early in the second half, substitute João Félix restored Milan’s two-goal advantage shortly after entering the game.

This victory propels AC Milan into the Coppa Italia semi-finals, bringing them closer to their first title in the competition since 2003. The team’s focus now shifts to their upcoming Serie A fixture against Empoli, as they aim to build on this momentum.

Reflecting on his move to Milan, Walker expressed his enthusiasm during his presentation press conference: “Playing for Milan is fantastic. It’s a great ambition for my career to try a new experience. I thought this was a great opportunity to come here and express my talent.”

He also highlighted his commitment to leadership, stating, “With my age and my experience, that’s what I have to do. There’s a lack of confidence linked to the results. I think the new coach has a good idea. Now discipline is needed. That’s my role, which is not only related to the pitch. I’ve won a lot and I come with that experience.”

As AC Milan continues their campaign, the addition of seasoned players like Walker aims to bolster the squad’s confidence and performance in both domestic and European competitions.
