Liverpool supporters have been expressing their opinions on social media after watching the first half of their UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.

On Wednesday evening, Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad entered the intimidating Parc des Princes, eager to keep their quest for a seventh Champions League title alive.

Their opponents, PSG, who have been in strong form lately, provided a tough challenge in the round of 16. With a vocal home crowd behind them, Luis Enrique’s team came out aggressively, putting pressure on Liverpool from the start.

The hosts had an early goal ruled out for offside, while Alisson Becker made several key saves to keep the scoreline even. Liverpool also had a nervous moment when Ibrahima Konaté’s challenge on Bradley Barcola led to a VAR review, but the defender avoided any further punishment.

On social media, many Liverpool fans were critical of Andy Robertson’s performance, as the left-back struggled to deal with an in-form Ousmane Dembélé.

One fan expressed: “Andy Robertson is finished. He looks like an £8m full-back from Hull.”

Another wrote: “Robertson has to come off. EMBARRASSING.”

A third added: “Robertson is useless. Diaz too. No pace with him, Jota, and Salah.”

It was a difficult night for the Scottish full-back, with supporters voicing frustration over his difficulties against PSG’s relentless attacking pressure. The criticism continued, with one fan stating: “ANDY ROBERTSON IS AN EMBARRASSMENT.”

Another said: “Andy Robertson in 2025 is just sad to watch.”

A third simply commented: “Andy Robertson’s time is up.”

On TNT Sports, commentator Ally McCoist was full of praise for PSG’s dominant performance in the first half, saying: “What a first half PSG have had. They have been dynamic, powerful, exuberant, and skillful.”

Despite the pressure from PSG, Liverpool managed to hold firm, going into halftime with a 0-0 scoreline.

After their challenging Champions League clash in Paris, Liverpool will turn their attention back to the Premier League. They will return to Anfield on Saturday afternoon to face Southampton. A victory would extend their lead at the top of the table to 16 points before Arsenal’s crucial match against Manchester United on Sunday.
