‘This is their plan’: Barcelona fans are seriously worried about referee for Copa del Rey final More on Tribuna.com: https://tribuna.com/en/blogs/this-is-their-plan-barcelona-fans-are-seriously-worried-abou/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=oksc&utm_campaign=fcben?utm_source=copy
Spanish referee Cesar Soto Grado has been assigned to officiate the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Barcelona have a grievance with Soto Grado due to his controversial decisions against them last season.
It was Soto Grado who ruled out a clear goal for Barcelona when Lamine Yamal’s shot had crossed the line but was later spilled out by Andriy Lunin, the Madrid goalkeeper.
Soto Grado consulted with VAR for an extended period but repeatedly stated that the ball had not crossed the line.
Barcelona fans are deeply concerned that the final could be unfairly influenced if Soto Grado is chosen as the referee.
“Real Madrid always comes well-prepared… The strategy to secure a win against Barcelona is already in motion,” one fan remarked.
“With Soto Grado, Real Madrid will have 12 players,” another fan added.
Taha: “They are sending their strongest soldier, it’s over.”
“This is their strategy. Bring one of their preferred referees against us.”
