Ancelotti unhappy with ONE Real Madrid player’s performance
Real Madrid clinched a *3-2 win* over *Leganés* in the *Copa del Rey quarter-final*, though *Carlo Ancelotti* wasn’t fully content with his side’s showing.
Although they controlled possession, he was troubled by their *defensive lapses* that enabled *Leganés* to find the net twice. He stressed the need for maintaining *defensive balance* and guarding against *counterattacks* to prevent a repeat in future games.
Despite his disappointment with the back line, *Ancelotti* commended some standout displays. He pointed to *Kylian Mbappé’s* increasing impact and return to goal-scoring form, and praised *Arda Güler* for his *creativity* and overall impact, voicing optimism about his growth.
The game wasn’t without its contentious moments, as *Leganés’* boss *Borja Jiménez* and his squad aired their displeasure over multiple *refereeing calls* they believed favored *Real Madrid*.
*Ancelotti* acknowledged their complaints but remarked that both sides had reasons to be unhappy with the *officiating*.
Looking ahead, *Ancelotti* emphasized the urgency of shoring up the defense.
He highlighted the value of *teamwork* and sustained *intensity* to remain competitive on both domestic and European fronts.
