Pablo Maffeo, the Mallorca defender, humorously suggested he could defeat Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid in just “10 seconds” in a boxing match, reigniting their rivalry before the upcoming Spanish Super Cup clash. The two first clashed during the 2021-22 La Liga season when Maffeo was sent off for fouling Vinicius. Though they had made peace after the incident, Maffeo’s recent remarks might reignite tensions ahead of their Super Cup semi-final.
During an appearance on the Indomitos podcast, Maffeo entertained the idea of a boxing match with Vinicius, claiming it would be “the most-watched fight in history” and that he would certainly win and knock out the Brazilian in no time. He also reminded Vinicius of their past conflict in August, urging him to move past their previous issues, as continuing the feud was not in their best interest.
