Elon Musk is rumored to be on the verge of completing an extraordinary acquisition of Liverpool, the current leaders of both the Premier League and the Champions League, with his own AI suggesting six potential transfer targets.

A sensational report over the weekend stated that Musk had shown interest in purchasing the Merseyside club, which is currently under the ownership of Fenway Sports Group. However, the group had already sold a minority stake, ranging between £82m and £164m, to Dynasty Equity, a global sports investment company, in September 2023.

Musk, who leads both SpaceX and Tesla, has a deep connection to Liverpool through his paternal grandmother, Cora Robinson, who was born and raised in the city before marrying Walter Musk in 1944.

With an estimated fortune of $425.2 billion (£339.3 billion), according to Forbes, Musk’s potential involvement with one of the world’s most renowned clubs has intrigued many, including SPORTbible. Curious about what changes Musk might bring, the publication consulted Musk’s ‘Grok’ AI service on X to explore possible player acquisitions.

The AI suggested several intriguing names. First, it predicted Musk would aim to “strengthen Liverpool’s presence in North America” by targeting a highly marketable American player such as Christian Pulisic, formerly of Chelsea, or Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna. Additionally, the bot highlighted the potential of bringing in a young player with immense promise, with Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid being a primary candidate. Despite speculation about a potential move, it is widely believed that a deal for the 21-year-old is unlikely due to his ongoing commitments at Madrid. Another player mentioned was RB Leipzig’s promising forward, Benjamin Sesko, who fits the profile of “next-generation talent.”

Finally, Grok suggested the possibility of pursuing an “experienced superstar” like Robert Lewandowski or even a later-career Cristiano Ronaldo, though such a move seems improbable.

Grok’s AI transfer predictions for Liverpool include:

1. A Marketable American Player: Someone like Christian Pulisic or Gio Reyna, to enhance Liverpool’s North American reach.

2. A Promising Young Talent: Players like Jude Bellingham or Benjamin Sesko, fitting the profile of the next elite talent.

3. An Experienced Star: A player such as Robert Lewandowski or Cristiano Ronaldo, potentially adding a new dynamic to the team and boosting global brand visibility.

Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has also acknowledged his son’s future interest in acquiring Liverpool, citing the family’s historical connection to the city.

“He would love to, of course. Who wouldn’t? So would I. His grandmother was born in Liverpool, we have relatives there, and we were fortunate enough to know many of the Beatles, as they grew up with some of my family,” Errol Musk shared. “So, we do feel a strong bond with Liverpool.”
