FINALLY DONE! CARRICK WELCOMES UNITED’S THIRD SIGNING — BEST CREATIVE MIDFIELDER IN EUROPE CHOOSES OLD TRAFFORD OVER MAN CITY AND LIVERPOOL!

It is done. The wait is over. Manchester United have done it again.

Michael Carrick has officially welcomed Manchester United’s third major signing of the summer — and this one is arguably the biggest of them all. The best creative midfielder in Europe is heading to Old Trafford, with his medical scheduled for today and the official announcement expected within the next hour.

Man City wanted him. Liverpool chased him hard. United got him.

Congratulations, Red Devils. This one is special.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

Word has been filtering through behind the scenes for days — whispers, leaks, and fragments of information that suggested something enormous was about to happen at Old Trafford. Now it has.

Manchester United have beaten two of the Premier League’s most ambitious and financially powerful clubs to secure the signature of a player widely regarded as the finest creative midfielder on the continent. A player who does not just pass the ball — he controls games, unlocks defences, and elevates every single player around him.

The medical is happening today. The announcement is imminent. And Old Trafford is about to erupt.

CARRICK’S VISION FULLY REALISED

Cast your mind back to the ultimatum that shook the football world just days ago. Michael Carrick stood up, looked INEOS in the eye, and delivered the most emphatic transfer demand of his managerial career — back me with this signing, or I walk.

INEOS backed him.

And the result is this. The best creative midfielder in Europe — the player Carrick identified as the missing piece, the non-negotiable, the one transfer that separates a good Manchester United side from an all-conquering one — is now a Manchester United player.

This is what happens when a manager with a clear vision is backed by an ownership group with the courage and ambition to match it. This is what trust looks like at the highest level of football.

Carrick demanded. INEOS delivered. And Manchester United are the beneficiaries.

BEATING CITY AND LIVERPOOL TO THE PUNCH

The competition for this particular player was fierce — fiercer, perhaps, than any transfer battle United have been involved in this summer. Manchester City, armed with their extraordinary financial resources and a track record of landing elite midfield talent, were heavily involved. Liverpool, desperate to add creative quality to their own engine room, pushed hard from start to finish.

Both clubs walked away empty-handed.

United’s ability to win yet another transfer battle against their two most dangerous domestic rivals speaks volumes about where this club now stands in the Premier League’s pecking order. It is no longer enough for rivals to simply outspend or outlast — United are operating with a clarity of purpose, a strength of relationships, and a managerial pull that is proving consistently decisive in the moments that matter.

City and Liverpool will regroup. They always do. But this defeat in the transfer market is one that will hurt — because they both know exactly what they have missed out on.

WHAT HE BRINGS TO OLD TRAFFORD

The best creative midfielder in Europe. Let those words breathe for a moment.

This is a player who sees passes that others cannot even imagine. A player whose vision, technical ability, and football intelligence operate on a frequency that most midfielders simply cannot access. Defences that are organised, disciplined, and well-drilled suddenly find themselves exposed — not by pace or power, but by the kind of creativity that cannot be coached or manufactured.

In a Manchester United squad already bristling with attacking talent, pace, and goal threat, adding a creative midfielder of this calibre is the equivalent of fitting a turbo engine into a car that was already flying. The players around him will be better. The team as a whole will be more unpredictable, more dangerous, and significantly harder to stop.

Michael Carrick knew it. That is why he was willing to stake his job on getting this deal done.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT IS COMING

As the medical gets underway today, the anticipation building around Old Trafford and across the global United fanbase is unlike anything this summer has produced so far. And that is saying something — because this has been a summer full of extraordinary moments.

But this one feels different. This one feels like the signing that ties it all together.

Three major signings. A transformed midfield. An attack loaded with world-class talent. And a manager whose vision has been backed at every single turn.

The announcement is coming. The confirmation is imminent.

And Manchester United’s 2026/27 season just got a whole lot more exciting.

CONGRATULATIONS MAN UNITED FANS. THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.
