BREAKING NEWS: STEVEN GERRARD DEMANDS MANDATORY STARTER FOR ANDONI IRAOLA TO OUTRANK MANCHESTER UNITED!

! Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has issued a firm public mandate for new head coach Andoni Iraola, singling out the one attacking talisman who must feature in the starting XI for every remaining match if the Reds are to finish above rivals Manchester United this season.

Following Liverpool’s pre-season clash against AS Monaco at Anfield, Gerrard made it clear that unleashing the club’s key creative force is non-negotiable for their silverware and league aspirations under the new management.

GERRARD’S DIRECT MESSAGE TO IRAOLA

Speaking on post-match analysis panels, Gerrard outlined the absolute tactical necessity of centering Liverpool’s attacking phase around their most dynamic playmaker:

“From what I saw yesterday, Iraola truly needs to start him in every single match this season. He’s the only player capable of unlocking their attack. If Liverpool want to finish above Manchester United in the table this season, he cannot be sitting on the bench.”

The midfield legend emphasized that while Iraola’s high-pressing system demands immense physical output, the team lacks fluid transition and opening creativity whenever their main maestro is left out of the starting lineup.

TACTICAL CONTEXT: LIVERPOOL 2–3 MONACO

The match against Monaco at Anfield exposed both the high ceiling and the structural frailties of Iraola’s side during pre-season:

Early Dominance: Liverpool raced into a 2–0 lead before half-time courtesy of goals from Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

Second-Half Drift: Wholesale squad changes and falling physical intensity allowed Monaco to stage a second-half comeback, scoring three unanswered goals to seal a 3–2 win.

Gerrard pointed to the sharp decline in central control during the second half as clear evidence that certain core starters must be locked into the lineup for competitive fixtures.

REACTION FROM THE ANFIELD FAITHFUL

Gerrard’s declaration has resonated strongly across social media, where supporters have debated squad rotation versus tactical consistency ahead of the Premier League opener:

@KopiteSte: “Stevie G is 100% right. We look like a completely different side when he’s on the pitch. Iraola has to start him every week!”

@TacticalReds: “Rotation is key in a long season, but for the big games against rivals like United, he is completely irreplaceable.”

@AnfieldEra: “Gerrard knows what it takes to carry a Liverpool midfield. Iraola should take this advice on board immediately.”

THE ROAD AHEAD FOR IRAOLA

With pre-season drawing to a close and the Premier League campaign fast approaching, Andoni Iraola faces crucial decisions regarding his tactical spine. Finding the balance between high-intensity pressing and unlocking deep defensive blocks will determine whether Liverpool can outpace Manchester United and challenge for top honours.
