THE DRAMATIC REUNION IN WROCLAW

The final pre-season clash between AC Milan and Manchester United at the Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław, Poland, produced non-stop drama on and off the pitch. Former Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim faced his old side and successor, Michael Carrick, for the first time since his departure from Old Trafford in January 2026.

While AC Milan pulled off an impressive 4-2 comeback victory, the most explosive story emerged after the match. Amorim reportedly made a stunning admission regarding Marcus Rashford, who made his return to the Manchester United squad after months on the sidelines.

“HE’S A GOD ON HIS OWN” — AMORIM’S ASTONISHING APOLOGY

Speaking after watching Rashford’s performance in Poland, Amorim delivered an unfiltered confession that left reporters in total shock:

“After watching Rashford today, he’s the only player at Manchester United that I owe an apology. I never knew he had this kind of work rate and I neglected him. I’m ready to work with him, give him regular football. I want him here at AC Milan. After watching him today, I can say he’s not just a player, he’s a god on his own, and I want to work with him again.”

The declaration represents an incredible reversal from the Portuguese manager, who had famously sidelined the England international during his 14-month tenure in Manchester.

MATCH RECAP: AC MILAN 4-2 MANCHESTER UNITED

The pre-season encounter in Wrocław provided a six-goal thriller:

2′ — Early United Strike: Harry Maguire powered home an inswinging Bruno Fernandes delivery to give Manchester United an early 1-0 lead.

37′ — Chukwueze Equalizer: Samuel Chukwueze capitalized on defensive chaos inside the United box to make it 1-1 before half-time. Bruno Fernandes subsequently missed a penalty shortly before the break.

51′ — Dorgu Restores Lead: Patrick Dorgu pounced on a defensive mistake by Terracciano to curl a finish past Torriani and put United 2-1 ahead.

57’–71′ — Milan’s Four-Goal Blitz: AC Milan struck four unanswered goals as Alphadjo Cissè leveled at 2-2, Gonçalo Ramos headed Milan 3-2 in front, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek sealed the 4-2 victory.

TRANSFER RUMORS IGNITED

Amorim’s glowing praise and explicit intent to sign Rashford have immediately sparked massive transfer speculation across Europe. With the summer window entering its closing stages, AC Milan could be preparing a formal approach to test Manchester United’s resolve before the deadline.

For Michael Carrick and Manchester United, the pre-season defeat exposes defensive work to be done, but Amorim’s public apology to Rashford has ensured all eyes remain on Old Trafford’s transfer business.
