Liverpool
BREAKING: Liverpool on the Brink of Losing Three Star Players Amidst Ownership Criticism.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah are nearing the expiration of their contracts, and their futures at Liverpool remain uncertain. As they enter the final six months of their agreements, no new deals have been reached, creating a sense of ambiguity regarding their positions at the club.
Rumors have connected Trent Alexander-Arnold with Real Madrid, with speculation growing stronger. Madrid reportedly made an attempt to sign the right-back before the transfer window opened, but Liverpool quickly rejected the offer. New reports, however, claim that Madrid is ready to present £20 million to secure Alexander-Arnold this month instead of waiting until the summer.
Although it seems unlikely that Liverpool would let any crucial players depart during a title race, there remains a chance that Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Salah could leave as free agents in the coming months.
Salah’s Contract Situation
Mohamed Salah has been the most outspoken regarding his uncertain future. He recently acknowledged that contract discussions with Liverpool have stalled, stating that there has been “no progress.” Despite his exceptional performance this season—scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists—questions remain about his future at the club.
Former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink criticized how Liverpool has managed Salah’s contract, suggesting they should allow him to leave. “If I were Liverpool’s owner, I’d let Salah go because of his age,” Hasselbaink remarked. “He’s turning 33 and desires a three-year contract, but that’s hard to justify, particularly with the wages he’s asking for.”
Hasselbaink also stated that Liverpool made a mistake by allowing Salah’s contract to reach this point. “This is Liverpool’s fault,” he commented. “They should have resolved this matter sooner.”
Recent reports suggest that Salah may be close to agreeing on a two-year extension, although unresolved issues, such as his image rights, have delayed progress. Nonetheless, there is hope that a deal will be reached, which would greatly benefit Liverpool’s long-term strategy.
Manager Stays Focused on Team Performance
In the midst of all the speculation, Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot reiterated that his main focus is the team’s performance, not the outside rumors. “If anything is bothering the players, they’ll come to me,” Slot said. “For now, our priority is to enhance our game, not the chatter beyond the club.”
With the futures of three important players uncertain, Liverpool must act quickly to secure their contracts or risk losing them on free transfers.
