Ancellotti brought me here to embarrass me,I will never forgive him for that”, Florentino perez sends strong message to Ancellotti after super cup loss to Barcelona yesterday
Following Real Madrid’s 5-2 loss to Barcelona in the Supercopa de España final on January 12, 2025, club president Florentino Pérez has reportedly voiced significant displeasure with head coach Carlo Ancelotti. The defeat has heightened tensions between Pérez and Ancelotti, with Pérez allegedly feeling “embarrassed” by the team’s performance and openly questioning Ancelotti’s strategies and team selections.
Sources suggest that Pérez is contemplating changes to the managerial setup if there are no prompt improvements. This is not the first time friction has arisen between the two; in past seasons, similar disappointing losses to Barcelona have prompted Pérez to enter the locker room to directly address his concerns with both the players and coaching staff.
Ancelotti, who previously enjoyed success with Real Madrid, including a Champions League triumph in 2022, now faces increased scrutiny. The recent Super Cup defeat has intensified discussions about whether a leadership change may be necessary, particularly if the team’s performance does not improve swiftly.
At this point, Real Madrid has not made any official announcements regarding Ancelotti’s status, but the situation is being carefully monitored, with upcoming fixtures likely to be crucial in determining the coach’s future at the club.
