Trent Alexander-Arnold Responds After Seeing Video of Liverpool Fan Burning His Jersey
Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially responded after a viral video showed a Liverpool fan burning his jersey in anger over his rumored move to Real Madrid.
A clip circulating on social media platform X captured a furious fan setting fire to the back of Alexander-Arnold’s shirt before proudly displaying it to the camera. This act symbolizes the growing frustration among Liverpool supporters, many of whom have called for manager Arne Slot to bench the right-back for the rest of the season.
One fan posted: “Don’t let him play another game. Don’t let him set foot at Anfield when we lift the trophy.”

After witnessing the backlash firsthand, Alexander-Arnold has now spoken out about the controversy. In an official statement, the Liverpool vice-captain addressed the fan outrage, saying:
“I’ve given everything for this club since I was a kid. Seeing that video hurts, but I can’t control how people react. Whatever happens, my love for Liverpool will never change.”
Despite the emotional response from supporters, Alexander-Arnold has yet to confirm his next destination. Reports indicate that Real Madrid has already secured an agreement, but neither the player nor the club has made an official announcement.
Could Alexander-Arnold Leave Before June 30?
One of the biggest concerns for Liverpool fans is the possibility that Alexander-Arnold might leave before his contract expires on June 30. Real Madrid, set to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup from June 18, reportedly wants him registered early to feature in the group stage.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid would need to negotiate an early release with Liverpool or wait until July 1 to sign him for free.
“If Real Madrid wants Alexander-Arnold for the Club World Cup group stage, they will have to negotiate with Liverpool,” a Sky Sports source revealed.
With tensions rising and Liverpool’s Premier League title race nearing its climax, Alexander-Arnold’s future remains a major talking point. Will he stay to finish the season, or will Real Madrid push for an early transfer? The next few weeks could be crucial.
